In order to lose weight, you will need to eat fewer calories than your calculated BMR. You will have to RE-CALCULATE the formula as you lose weight!
Once you have your BMR, you will have to use the following formula to get the number of calories you need each day. This is known as the Harris Benedict Formula.
If you have little exercise: Take your BMR multiplied by 1.2
If you have light exercise 1-3 days a week: Multiply your BMR by 1.375
If you are moderately active 3-5 days a week: Multiply your BMR by 1.55
If you are very active 6-7 days a week: Multiply you BMR by 1.725
If you are extra active in sports/work every day or are in training: Multiply your BMR by 1.9
